This tank was built to serve the SASOL plant, a factory whose purpose is to convert coal into liquid. Our tank supplies liquid oxygen, a 100% ecological gas, for the liquefaction of coal in order to produce synthetic hydrocarbons.
Although this flat-bottom cryogenic tank was built in an area with a more clement climate than some of our projects, each installation presents its own challenges and complications.
In the case of this tank, the transport logistics were complex. Following our usual procedure, we shipped the tank in kit form in containers, but the distances, both by sea and by land, meant that the time was longer than usual. It was also a challenge to find qualified personnel in the area (Cryospain experts supervise all projects, wherever they are, but we always work with local teams).
